Here’s A Little Bit About Who We Are

Commonwealth Dentistry has proudly served patients and families all over Central Virginia since 1998. We are committed to providing exceptional care for our patients through a team of highly skilled dentists, dental technicians, and dental hygienists, modern equipment and methods, and multiple convenient locations.

We understand the importance of accommodating our patients’ needs in a relaxing atmosphere, which is why we customize our services to ensure every patient is as comfortable as possible during their visit.

Mark Beltrami

DDS

A founding partner of Commonwealth Dentistry, Dr. Mark Beltrami graduated from MCV School of Dentistry in 1995 and has been practicing in the area since 1998. Besides his work at Commonwealth Dentistry, Dr. Beltrami also helped establish and is the current vice president of Central Virginia Dental Care, PLC. He is a member of the American Dental Association and been invited as an expert for their informational panels. Mark is also a long standing member of the Virginia Dental Association, where he has served on the new dentist committee and is an active member of the advisory board for Benchmark Dentures, the largest pro bono denture distributor for the VDA’s Mission of Mercy project. Dr. Beltrami dedicates extensive time each year to participate in continuing dental education around the country and he has been recognized by “Best of the Tri Cities” as Best Dentist by the Progress-Index. Mark has also traveled to Jamaica with dental students to serve communities in the island that have limited access to dental care. Outside the office, he has served as part time faculty at the VCU School of Dentistry for more than 10 years and resides in the area with his wife, Michelle, and two children.

Jeff Beyer

Jeff Beyer

Orthodontist, DDS

Dr. Beyer grew up just outside Buffalo, New York, and attended Penn State University for his B.S. degree in Physiology. After earning his DDS degree (Magna Cum Laude) in 1995 from the VCU School of Dentistry, he enrolled in the Orthodontic residency program at VCU and completed his training in 1997. He remained at VCU for an additional two years in the Department of Orthodontics as a full-time Assistant Professor where he directed the dental student orthodontic clinic, maintained a private practice, and trained the orthodontic residents.

In 1999, Dr. Beyer founded Commonwealth Orthodontics and maintains a full-time private practice in Midlothian and Colonial Heights. He was one of the very first Orthodontists to be trained in Invisalign and offer it in private practice back in 1999, and he maintains active professional memberships in the American, Southern, and Virginia Associations of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Beyer also had the honor and privilege of serving as President of the Medical College of Virginia Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation in 2005. Dr. Beyer and Commonwealth Orthodontics has been selected as the Best Orthodontist in Richmond by the Richmond Times-Dispatch for multiple years.

Outside of the office, you won’t find Dr. Beyer around town much, as he and his family enjoy traveling around the United States in their RV. If you are ever looking for advice as to where to travel, chances are he has been there (or at least somewhere close!). He also enjoys collecting pinball machines and arcade games — and he even has machines from his collection in both offices for patients to enjoy.

Najjiyya Davenport

DDS

Dr. Davenport is a graduate of Norfolk State University and a recipient of the Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences (DNIMAS) scholarship, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She later earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry and completed a general practice residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center at Harlem Hospital. She is also a member of national organizations such as the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association. Dr. Davenport is excited to be back in Richmond after practicing in Elkton, Maryland.

Tazewell DelDonna

Dr. DelDonna is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry. Having had several teeth extracted at a young age, Dr. DelDonna knows the importance of a soft touch and a caring, compassionate chair-side demeanor. He is committed to giving patients the smile they have always wanted. Hailing from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dr. DelDonna is excited to operate from our Prince George location and serve the communities of Southside Virginia. Outside of the practice, Dr. DelDonna loves to spend time with his loving fiancé and two-year-old yellow lab cooking, gardening, fishing, and hunting.

Bryan Dixon

DDS

Also a founding partner of Commonwealth Dentistry, Dr. Bryan Dixon graduated from MCV School of Dentistry in 1996 where he was honored as the International College of Dentistry Award recipient. He has received specialized training in Laser Dentistry and participates in extensive continuing education on dental implant placement, root canal therapy, and esthetic dentistry. Over the years, Bryan has been nominated for the Progress-Index award for Best Dentist in the Tri-Cities multiple times. Bryan has two kids, Wyatt and Kaysie, and when not in the office, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
As recent as 2020, Dr. Bryan Dixon was selected by his peers as a Top Cosmetic Dentist according to Richmond Magazine!
Tayeeb Faruk henrico va family dentist

Tayeeb Faruk

DDS

Dr. Faruk is a native of Northern Virginia. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. After graduating dental school, he went on to serve as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Bolling AFB in D.C.; where he completed his AEGD. From there he transferred to McGuire AFB in New Jersey, where he met his wife; and finally onto Incirlik AB in Turkey. He then left active duty and practiced in New York City. After spending two years in the big city, and a total of six years away from Virginia, he decided to return, to the state he loves, to settle down. Dr. Faruk’s focus in dentistry is on patient-centered care, with emphasis on patient education. In his spare time, he enjoys reading,being active and enjoying the culture of the city.

Dr. Phyllis Greer is a native of Seattle, Washington. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of the Pacific with a degree in biology. In 2006, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. After graduation, she served in the United States Army as a general dentist. Phyllis moved to Virginia in 2014 and has been in private practice ever since. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Southside Dental Society. Phyllis lives in Chester with her husband and two kids, and when not in the office she enjoys spending time volunteering at her children’s school.

Dr. Griffith’s career in dentistry began in the Hampton Roads area working for 4 years as a dental hygienist prior to starting dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. After completing the Advanced Education Residency at VCU, Dr. Griffith decided to come back “home” to Suffolk and join our practice. Dr. Griffith has experience in a full spectrum of aesthetic, cosmetic, and functional treatments ranging from veneer cases to implants and overall oral health.

In her free time, Dr. Griffith loves hiking, yoga, and a good game or movie night.

Ginger has been with Commonwealth Dentistry since 2002. Over the years, she has enjoyed working with patients as a Registered Dental Hygienist before transitioning into a management role. Ginger lives in Midlothian, Va. with her husband and two daughters. When not spending time with her family, Ginger is a running enthusiast and enjoys training for for marathons, half-marathons, and the occasional triathlon.

Beth has been a dental assistant since 1995 and has worked with Commonwealth Dentistry since 2003. Over the years, she has enjoyed building lasting relationships with our patients. Beth lives in South Chesterfield with her husband and son. Outside of the office, she enjoys shopping, cooking, fishing with her son, and volunteering at his school.
Dr. Bill Heriford

William Heriford

DDS

Dr. Heriford is a native of Hampton, Virginia. He graduated honors cum laude from Virginia Tech with an undergraduate degree in Biology before earning his doctorate of dental surgery from MCV School of Dentistry. Dr. Heriford completed his general practice residency at the Hampton VA Medical Center. Continuing education efforts are very important to Dr. Heriford and he regularly attends classes with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, the Spears Study Club at the Scottsdale Dental Center of Portsmouth, the Suffolk Dental Study Club, and the Pankey Institute.

“My profession means the world to me!” says Dr. Heriford. “Some people say that they go to work every day just to pay the mortgage, but my job is always intriguing and fun! For over 23 years, I have found it a joy to share in the fascinating stories all of our patients have to offer. I thoroughly enjoy caring for our patients and their teeth.``

Dr. Heriford has lived in Suffolk for the past 23 years with his wife, Susan, a fellow cosmetic dentist, and two daughters, Diana and Julia. Outside of the office, Dr. Heriford enjoys swimming, tennis, and snow skiing. He and his family are active members of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church and participate in many of the classes and groups at the church.

Clint Meadows

A native of Dalton, Georgia, Dr. Meadows studied biology at The University of Georgia before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry, where he was a recipient of the Elizabeth and Eugene Harrison Scholarship. He has trained in 3D printing and CADCAM dentistry, which is a field of advanced techniques in computerized dentistry. Clint regularly participates in extensive continuing education opportunities with a focus on dental implant placement, root canal therapy, sedation, and esthetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Education Association and the American Dental Association and participates in Mission of Mercy projects in Virginia where he provides free dental care to those in need. Outside the office and his volunteer efforts, Clint is an avid musician and concert-goer. He plays bass, guitar, piano, and regularly performs with a Richmond-area band composed of other local dentists. Dr. Meadows lives in Midlothian, VA with his wife, Julia, and their dog, Piper. They enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, seeing live music, and eating at new restaurants in the Richmond area.

Danielle Miller

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Miller grew up in a small town in North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from High Point University in High Point, North Carolina. After completing her undergraduate studies, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University’s dental school where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Directly after obtaining her dental degree, she pursued her certificate in pediatric dentistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Go Gators!

Dr. Miller recently became a board-certified pediatric dentist and is a diplomate for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Virginia Dental Association.
In her free time, she likes going for runs and trying new restaurants, as well as spending time with her fiancée and cat. Dr. Miller is looking forward to working at Commonwealth in order to brighten smiles all over the Richmond area!

Karen graduated from Virginia Tech in 1996 with a degree in business management and became a Registered Dental Hygienist in 1999. She has been with Commonwealth Dentistry since 2003. Karen lives in Prince George with her husband, daughter, and son. In her free time, Karen has a passion for volunteering and helping others.

Afia Rasul

Dr. Rasul attended University of Maryland, College Park and was a part of the science, technology and society scholars program at the university, where she graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology and physiology with a minor in English literature. She also graduated from University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2012 and was inducted into Gamma Pi Delta, a prosthodontic and operative honor society. While in dental school, she was a research tech and worked with the head of the endodontic department focusing on vertical root fracture diagnosis. During her final year, Afia was selected into the implant prosthodontics fellowship program to focus on implant restoration. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society. In 2015, she got married and moved to Richmond. Outside the office, Afia loves to travel and spend time with her husband, Zain, and son, Nyle.
Ben Rowland

Dr. Ben Rowland grew up in Virginia and attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he obtained both his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Prior to attending college, Dr. Rowland was a Navy Corpsman (medic) working with the US Marine Corps. While he was deployed to Iraq in 2005, Dr. Rowland’s brother sent him a letter that contained an article titled “The Most Rewarding Professions.” Being a dentist was at the top of the list. That letter opened Dr. Rowland’s eyes to a way that he could still practice medicine, but not have the life and death weight of working in a war zone.

Dr. Rowland has been exposed to and has experience in all aspects of general dentistry. He is passionate about treating his patients the way he would want his own family to be treated.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Rowland loves to read and spend time with his wife and their six children.

CRNA, MS, BSN

Megan Servinsky, CRNA, MS, BSN, graduated nursing school from the University of Florida in 2005. After working for 3 years in the intensive care unit, she attended Georgetown University and earned her Master's in Science to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She worked for a Richmond-based anesthesia group for 5 years, providing anesthesia care for patients having surgery in local hospitals. In 2016, she became an independent contractor and shifted her focus to providing anesthesia care for patients in the outpatient and office-based setting. Megan and her husband Jake live in Richmond with their two children, Ryan and Kate, and two boxers, Jasmine and Cali.
Jeffrey Spence

Dr. Jeffrey A. Spence was born in Lynchburg, VA. He attended college at Randolph-Macon in Ashland, VA where he received his bachelor’s degree in biology.

He then went on to the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry in Richmond, VA where he earned his D.D.S.

After practicing dentistry in Richmond for nearly 3 years, Dr. Spence relocated to Fluvanna County in 1995 and established Village Dental. In 2021, Dr. Spence and his team at Village Dental partnered up with Commonwealth Dentistry. Dr. Spence and his team have consistently been voted the Best Dentist in The Daily Progress Readers' Choice awards.

Dr. Spence is married to his college sweetheart and has 3 wonderful daughters. He enjoys travel, music, and is an admitted car fanatic. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Dental Society.

Dr. McKenzie Woodard, DDS

Dr. McKenzie Woodard attended Virginia Tech, where she graduated Cum Laude with a degree in chemistry and later earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry. McKenzie is a partner in Commonwealth Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association (VDA), and Richmond Dental Society. Having joined Commonwealth Dentistry in 2011, McKenzie also practiced in Charleston, S.C. from 2013-2016 and was honored as South Carolina’s New Dentist of the Year in 2014 by the South Carolina Dental Association (SCDA). Through SCDA and the VDA, she has also participated with the Donated Dental program to provide pro bono dental care services to those in need since 2014. She and her husband live in Richmond with their three children Harper, Palmer and Davis and their beagle Winston. Dr. Woodard was recently named one of the Best Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry Dentists by Richmond Magazine.

Nicholas Yesbeck

Periodontist, DDS

Our in-house periodontist Dr. Nicholas Yesbeck is a lifelong Richmonder. He grew up in Midlothian and attended Virginia Commonwealth University for 11 years where he received his undergraduate degree, DDS degree, and specialty certificate in periodontics with a Masters of Science in Dentistry. His training was concentrated on treating periodontal disease, gum grafting, bone grafting, dental implants, and moderate sedation. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society. He also gives back to the community through local Mission of Mercy projects in Virginia. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his family and staying active outdoors.

Dr. Castro is the founder and CEO of the practice, which was founded in 1996. Due to his expertise and the longevity of his practice, he has several patients that have and continue to travel from several different states and countries to seek his care. He has been awarded the top dental practice in Chester, Virginia for the past several years. Dr. Castro is also a philanthropist and has raised thousands of dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His practice has been featured on our local channel 8 news for his fundraising efforts for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While studying at the University of San Francisco he was awarded a military scholarship, which led to eight years of him proudly serving in our United States Army as a Captain. He graduated in 1996 from The Medical College of Virginia with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.

Dr. Castro is an expert in sedation dentistry and has performed hundreds of sedations and dedicated himself to continuous higher learning by studying sedation dentistry in countless hours of continuing education. Driven by a passion for dentistry, Dr. Castro’s goal is to give every patient the personal attention they deserve to feel comfortable and taken care of while giving the best dental care available. In his free time Dr. Castro is working on his book about educating patients in dentistry and hopes to be published in the near future. He also enjoys traveling with his four children and his wife Heather. On most weekends you can find him on the golf course practicing his golf swing.

Kristin Davidson

Dr. Kristin Davidson is a Richmond native who is excited to provide quality dental care to her community. Dr. Davidson began her undergraduate education at the University of Mary Washington, where she received the American Chemical Society POLYED Award in Organic Chemistry. After two years, Dr. Davidson transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Dr. Davidson received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and was the 2014 recipient of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Dental Student Award. While in her last year of Dental school, Dr. Davidson served as a teaching assistant, mentoring underclassmen; she also participated in rotations at dental clinics across the state to provide dental care to underserved populations.

Dr. Davidson enjoys all aspects of dentistry and loves getting to know her patients. In her free time, she enjoys being with family, running, volunteering, and entertaining her mischievous cats.

Travis Faber

Dr. Travis Faber is originally from Norfolk, VA, but has called the Richmond area his home for the past 12 years. He is thrilled to be in a great practice where patients come first. Dr. Faber completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science at Virginia Commonwealth University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.

While in dental school, Dr. Faber was able to provide care at numerous free and reduced-price clinics, in addition to participating in Mission of Mercy projects. Dr. Faber enjoys practicing dentistry as a way to use both his hands and his mind to help his patients receive the best care they can.

Dr. Faber is a founding member of a local Kiwanis organization and gives his time volunteering in his community. Dr. Faber also enjoys spending time with his large extended family both in Richmond and Norfolk and enjoys spending time in the mountains of Nelson County.
