Meet our Chester specialty dentists

Dr. Nick Yesbeck

Our in-house periodontist, Dr. Nicholas Yesbeck is a lifelong Richmonder. He grew up in Midlothian and attended Virginia Commonwealth University for 11 years, where he received his undergraduate degree, DDS degree, and specialty certificate in periodontics with a Master of Science in Dentistry. His training was concentrated on treating periodontal disease, gum grafting, bone grafting, dental implants, and moderate sedation.

He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society. He also gives back to the community through local Mission of Mercy projects in Virginia.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his family and staying active outdoors.

Dr. Balasudha Baladhandayutham

Balasudha Baladhandayutham, DDS, MS, brings a rich background in dentistry from her origins in Chennai, India, to the Commonwealth Dentistry team. With a foundation in dental science from Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, she has been dedicated to patient care since 2000. Dr. Baladhandayutham’s journey in dentistry is marked by her extensive experience in private practice, her advanced studies in Biomaterials at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her specialized training in Endodontics at Boston University. Her academic contributions as a faculty instructor at The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University and her commitment to serving the underserved at CHAS in Spokane, Washington highlight her dedication to education and community service.

As an endodontics specialist, Dr. Baladhandayutham is passionate about alleviating pain and saving teeth, emphasizing complex root canal treatments, treating young permanent teeth, and performing apical surgeries. Her approach to patient care is characterized by compassion and respect, stemming from her comprehensive background in general dentistry and endodontics. Dr. Baladhandayutham is eager to collaborate with general dentists and dental specialists at Commonwealth Dentistry to deliver the highest quality of care to her patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Baladhandayutham enjoys a rich personal life filled with travel, yoga, gardening, photography, and painting. Her family, including her husband, parents, and brother, are her pillars of support. Dr. Baladhandayutham’s interest in world cultures, cuisines, music, and dance reflects her open and curious nature, making her not only a skilled dentist but also a well-rounded individual eager to connect with her patients on multiple levels.

Dr. Bilal Khan

Bilal Khan, BDS, CAGS Endodontics, brings a wealth of experience and advanced training to our practice. Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, he completed dental school at Dow University of Health Sciences and furthered his expertise with an AEGD program at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He then pursued advanced endodontic training at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Khan is dedicated to providing efficient, high-quality endodontic care with a focus on patient comfort and collaboration. His warm approach ensures patients feel at ease and fully informed throughout their treatment. His skills include surgical and non-surgical root canal treatments, molar and non-molar root canals, retreatments, and apicoectomies. Dr. Khan is passionate about alleviating his patients’ pain and saving their teeth.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Khan enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, and family game nights with his wife and daughter. He has a keen interest in music, shoes, and watches, appreciating the craftsmanship of quality timepieces.
