Dr. Mark Beltrami

A founding partner of Commonwealth Dentistry, Dr. Mark Beltrami graduated from MCV School of Dentistry in 1995 and has been practicing in the area since 1998. Besides his work at Commonwealth Dentistry, Dr. Beltrami also helped establish and is the current vice president of Central Virginia Dental Care, PLC. He is a member of the American Dental Association and has been invited as an expert for their informational panels. Mark is also a long-standing member of the Virginia Dental Association, where he has served on the new dentist committee and is an active member of the advisory board for Benchmark Dentures, the largest pro bono denture distributor for the VDA’s Mission of Mercy project.

Dr. Beltrami dedicates extensive time each year to participate in continuing dental education around the country and he has been recognized by “Best of the Tri-Cities” as Best Dentist by the Progress-Index. Mark has also traveled to Jamaica with dental students to serve communities on the island that have limited access to dental care. Outside the office, he has served as part-time faculty at the VCU School of Dentistry for more than 10 years and resides in the area with his wife, Michelle, and two children.

After graduating from dental school, he went on to serve as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Bolling AFB in D.C.; where he completed his AEGD. From there he transferred to McGuire AFB in New Jersey, where he met his wife; and finally to Incirlik AB in Turkey. He then left active duty and practiced in New York City.

After spending two years in the big city, and a total of six years away from Virginia, he decided to return to the state he loves to settle down. Dr. Faruk’s focus in dentistry is on patient-centered care, with an emphasis on patient education.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, being active, and enjoying the culture of the city.

Over the years, Bryan has been nominated for the Progress-Index award for Best Dentist in the Tri-Cities multiple times. As recently as 2020, Dr. Bryan Dixon was selected by his peers as a Top Cosmetic Dentist according to Richmond Magazine!

Bryan has two kids, Wyatt and Kaysie, and when not in the office, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.

While in dental school, Dr. Faber was able to provide care at numerous free and reduced-price clinics, in addition to participating in Mission of Mercy projects. Dr. Faber enjoys practicing dentistry as a way to use both his hands and his mind to help his patients receive the best care possible.

Dr. Beyer grew up just outside Buffalo, NY, and attended Penn State University for his B.S. degree in Physiology. After earning his DDS degree (Magna Cum Laude) in 1995 from the VCU School of Dentistry, he enrolled in the Orthodontic residency program at VCU and completed his training in 1997. He remained at VCU for an additional two years in the Department of Orthodontics as a full-time Assistant Professor where he directed the dental student orthodontic clinic, maintained a private practice, and trained the orthodontic residents.

In 1999, Dr. Beyer founded Commonwealth Orthodontics and maintains a full-time private practice in Midlothian and Colonial Heights. He was one of the very first Orthodontists to be trained in Invisalign and offer it in private practice, and maintains active professional memberships in the American, Southern, and Virginia Associations of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Beyer also had the honor and privilege of serving as President of the Medical College of Virginia Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation in 2005. Dr. Beyer and Commonwealth Orthodontics have been selected as the Best Orthodontist in Richmond by the Richmond Times-Dispatch for multiple years.

Outside of the office, you won’t find Dr. Beyer around town much, as he and his family enjoy traveling around the United States in their RV. If you are ever looking for advice as to where to travel, chances are he has been there (or at least somewhere close!). He also enjoys collecting pinball machines and arcade games — and he even has machines from his collection in both offices for patients to enjoy.

While in dental school, she was a research tech and worked with the head of the endodontic department focusing on vertical root fracture diagnosis. During her final year, Afia was selected for the implant prosthodontics fellowship program to focus on implant restoration. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society.

In 2015, she got married and moved to Richmond. Outside the office, Afia loves to travel and spend time with her husband, Zain, and son, Nyle.

Najjiyya is a partner in Commonwealth Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, and Southside Dental Society. She loves to serve her community and frequently participates in Free Dental Days providing pro bono work to underserved communities and those without access to dental care.  
When Najjiyya is not in the office, she can be found reading, traveling, spending time with her loved ones or outside in nature. Dr. Davenport lives in Richmond with her husband, Stephen and their dog, Molar.

After two years, Dr. Davidson transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Dr. Davidson received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and was the 2014 recipient of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Dental Student Award. While in her last year of Dental school, Dr. Davidson served as a teaching assistant, mentoring underclassmen; she also participated in rotations at dental clinics across the state to provide dental care to underserved populations.

Dr. Davidson enjoys all aspects of dentistry and loves getting to know her patients. In her free time, she enjoys being with family, running, volunteering, and entertaining her mischievous cats.

Dr. Evans is a current member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and American Association of Women Dentists. She is the proud mother of one daughter. In her free time, Dr. Evans finds much joy in spending quality time with her family.

Working in such a large city allowed him to gain experience treating a variety of patients with a multitude of complex treatment needs. He has extensive knowledge of all modalities of general and cosmetic dentistry including dental crowns, dental bridges, porcelain veneers, Invisalign® clear braces, teeth whitening, dental implant surgery, and more.

Dr. Shafiq knows the value of patient centered care and always tries to put the needs of his patient’s first. He strives to build long lasting, trusting relationships and focuses on restoring natural-looking, healthy smiles.

Dr. Burton is especially interested in root canals, extractions, anterior restorations, and restoring smiles after dental trauma. Originally from Multan, Pakistan, Dr. Habib earned her dental degree from Nishtar Medical College before moving to the United States to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She was inspired to pursue dentistry in high school after developing a strong interest in healthcare and science, and she was drawn to the field because it blends medical knowledge, artistry, and patient care.

Dr. Habib is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. She values the balance of science and artistry in dentistry and enjoys providing care that relieves pain, restores function, and enhances aesthetics. She especially appreciates building trust with patients and educating them on preventive care to impact their overall well-being positively.

Dr. Abdelrahman Aboulatta

Dr. Aboulatta discovered his passion for dentistry while working for his family dentist as a dental assistant. That experience confirmed his desire to pursue a career in healthcare where he could use both his hands and knowledge to bring comfort and relief to patients. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and now practices as a general dentist.

He is a compassionate and detail-oriented provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. His clinical skills include comprehensive treatment planning, restorative and prosthetic dentistry, endodontic therapy, and periodontal care. He prioritizes clear communication and strives to ensure that every patient feels heard, informed, and comfortable throughout treatment.

Dr. Aboulatta believes education is the key to prevention and makes it a goal to empower patients to understand their oral health and advocate for themselves. Dr. Tiannie Phan is a dedicated dental professional who grew up in Phoenix, AZ, and pursued her passion for dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Phan was actively involved in research, leadership, and community service. She served as a student ambassador for Give Kids a Smile, held a leadership role in the ASDA District 4 cabinet, and participated in numerous Mission of Mercy (MOM) projects.

Dr. Phan has been passionate about dentistry since childhood, inspired by positive early experiences at her pediatric dental office and her own orthodontic journey. Today, she channels that enthusiasm into esthetic dentistry, with a particular interest in anterior composites, crowns, and bridges. She is committed to making patients feel confident in their smiles and prioritizes comfort and education in every visit.

Outside of the office, Dr. Phan enjoys staying active through yoga, Pilates, and rock climbing, and finds joy in creative pursuits like hand-building pottery, gardening, and cooking. A true foodie and explorer at heart, she loves traveling and discovering new cuisines and cultures. Dr. Bilal Khan

Bilal Khan, BDS, CAGS Endodontics, brings a wealth of experience and advanced training to our practice. Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, he completed dental school at Dow University of Health Sciences and furthered his expertise with an AEGD program at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He then pursued advanced endodontic training at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Khan is dedicated to providing efficient, high-quality endodontic care with a focus on patient comfort and collaboration. His warm approach ensures patients feel at ease and fully informed throughout their treatment. His skills include surgical and non-surgical root canal treatments, molar and non-molar root canals, retreatments, and apicoectomies. Dr. Khan is passionate about alleviating his patients’ pain and saving their teeth.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Khan enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, and family game nights with his wife and daughter. He has a keen interest in music, shoes, and watches, appreciating the craftsmanship of quality timepieces.
